Public attention was focused for many days on the electrical cables due to Turkish violations in the Dodecanese, pushing hydrocarbon exploration in Greek waters and the completion of maritime spatial planning into the background. 

The article explores, from a practical perspective within the EU framework, the two priorities: Greece’s national priority and the broader European approach to managing Greece’s energy security within the context of a wider, developing regional stability of electrical networks.
